Some 50 members of Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue held a service to commemorate the Czech community of Frydeck-Mistek, with which it is twinned. Every year congregants read from a scroll dating from 1880 which belonged to that community, destroyed by the Nazis. Synagogue chairman Pru Baker said: "The service was exceptionally moving as the readers really identified with their counterparts from Frydeck-Mistek."
