Two dozen teenagers beat the "back to school blues" at a workshop organised by Streetwise, a partnership between Maccabi and the Community Security Trust. They took part in sessions on personal safety, covering security on the streets and on public transport, and were given instruction in self-defence techniques. Next month, Streetwise is holding an event for year-nine and 10 pupils in conjunction with the JCC. Ring 020 8457 2331 for further details.
