Belgium shatters Israel's Davis Cup dream

Israel succumbed 3-2 to Belgium in their Davis Cup playoff tie on Sunday.

Leading 2-1 thanks to victories for Amir Weintraub and Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich in the doubles, the visitors lost both reverse singles match, with Weintraub unable to produce his first match heroics.

There was more disappointment for Dudi Sela who was beaten 7-5, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 by Ruben Bemelmans.

Steve Darcis blew Weintraub away in the deciding match 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.
