Academics Avi Shlaim and Benny Morris are having a bit of a row over Morris’s book, A History of the First Arab-Israeli War.
In a Guardian review, Shlaim accused Morris of anti-Arab racism.
A highly irritated Morris wrote back: “I was less than happy with his accusation or hint of (my) anti-Arab ‘racism’. I do believe that people who blow themselves up in crowded buses and restaurants, as well as those who fly planes into tall buildings, are barbarians, as are the people who send them on these ‘missions’."
Could someone erect a security fence between the two men?
