Samantha Ellis is a writer based in London. Her latest book is called Chopping Onions on my Heart in most places and Always Carry Salt in the US, It’s about her mother tongue, the language of Iraqi Jews, going extinct and how that feels, and about losing and saving culture and heritage, keeping and letting go. It was shortlisted for the Wingate Prize

Her other books are my reading memoir How to be a Heroine and Take Courage, a biography of Anne Brontë. She also write plays like my rom com How to Date a Feminist which has been performed all over the world.
 

She worked on the first two Paddington films.
