I've been going to the gym ahead of going on tour and I've been eating only healthy food. I'm trying to cut down on the carbs.
Smoked salmon salad: There's nothing better than a nice piece of Scottish smoked salmon with a crisp salad - that's my Jewish side coming out.
Barbecued lamb: On the other side of my family I'm Greek, and we love to have lamb slow cooked on the barbecue.
Sushi: If you want to find me at lunchtime I'm usually eating sushi at Brent Cross. I like the concept of picking things from the conveyor belt.
Sea bass: It has to be filleted. If you have to take the bones out it's cold before you get to eat it.
Kleftico: This is another Greek dish of slow cooked lamb pieces. It's great with a salad.
Antony clearly enjoys protein foods. While these foods are essential for cellular growth and repair, they should comprise only about 12 per cent of the total foods you eat each day (fruit and vegetables should comprise 33 per cent, starchy carbohydrates 33 per cent, dairy foods 15 per cent and fatty and sugary foods 7 per cent). Antony should avoid over-restricting his carbohydrate intake since these foods contain vitamins, minerals and fibre together with slowly released energy. While sushi with its rice comes with its own in-built carbohydrate, Antony could eat a bagel, rye bread or roll with his smoked salmon or add potatoes or rice to lamb or sea bass. Sushi based on oil-rich tuna or salmon or mackerel will also provide heart-protective omega-3 fatty acids. To help reduce the risk of cancer, Antony could replace smoked salmon with cooked fresh salmon or tinned salmon as the basis for salads.
