Will this be the simcha we have all been waiting for? TV’s favourite Jewish princess, Jennifer Aniston, and actual Jewish prince David Schwimmer are dating in real life, according to reports.
The actors, who starred alongside each other as on-off couple Rachel Green and Ross Geller in the hit series Friends are rumoured to be going out together after filming a reunion episode of the show.
A source told Closer magazine: “After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there.
“They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA.”
According to the source, they have been spending time at Aniston’s home where she cooked dinners for them in the evenings
The source said: “They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favourite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”
The news could confirm what fans globally have long suspected — that they carried a torch for one another during the early seasons of Friends.
During the special episode, Mr Schwimmer revealed there were feelings off-screen as well as on it. “At some point we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship.
“And we never crossed that boundary. We respected that,” he said.
Ms Aniston said: “We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”
Despite neither of them commenting on the reports, it has not stopped fans of the show and couple celebrating what they have always longed for — the possibility of a real-life Ross and Rachel romance and the potential of the biggest Jewish wedding of the century.
