How we met
Alexandra: The Jewish community in Leeds is not very big, so we knew each other before we started dating. We also both went to FZY meetings on a Sunday night. We started talking at a New Year’s Eve party in 2002 and began dating a month later.
The proposal
We went to Lake Como in August and were staying at a beautiful hotel over-looking the lake. On our second evening there, Colin told me we were going on a shortcut to the restaurant. Instead, we went down to the jetty where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so romantic with the lake, the moonlight and no-one around. But we couldn’t wait to call back to Leeds to tell everyone our big news.
The wedding
We have booked our wedding for August 30, the same day Colin proposed. We are marrying at my shul, Beth Hamidrash Hagadol in Leeds, where my parents were married 26 years ago.
