Actress Vanessa Underwood addressed 30 members of Jacs at Brighton and Hove Reform Synagogue. She spoke about the writer Virginia Woolf in a talk entitled “Tensions between joy and pain”. The shul also hosted another Jacs talk: Sidney Levine, a Brighton and Hove Hebrew Congregation member spoke about the Abayudaya, a Ugandan tribe which converted to Judaism in the 19th century.
