Around 400 guests attended the annual tea of the Association of Jewish Refugees, held at the Watford Hilton.
As well as a traditional continental tea, there were arias, duets and ensemble-playing from the Garden Party. In his welcoming remarks, AJR chairman Andrew Kaufman said the event was the highlight of the association's calendar.
"Occasions like today illustrate the rich legacy of the refugees from across Europe and serve as a timely reminder of the remarkable community of people the AJR represents."
