Romantic Rothschild wedding venue

Discover the Waddesdon Estate, with a myriad of magical outdoor and indoor settings for your wedding

articlemain

Nestling in a tranquil waterside setting amid glorious gardens, the Dairy is an enchanting private building on the Waddesdon Estate, created for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 19th century to house his prize-winning cattle. It had fallen into disrepair until Lord Rothschild, together with Bannerman Design, restored the building in the early 1990s.

The Dairy is a versatile and flexible space, allowing guests to create their perfect event.

There are many spaces for wedding ceremonies; six of which are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, including three outdoor spaces.

In summer, the arbor within the gardens is covered with magnificent roses and makes a beautiful location for your chupah, or you may prefer to gather your loved ones by the pavilion for a ceremony overlooking the lake. Alternatively, the picturesque pavilion is perfect for those looking for summer shade while entertaining guests.

With its clean lines and manicured lawns, the Dairy Courtyard is an ideal space for al fresco summer drinks.

The Wintergarden, with its contemporary glass design and beautiful views across the private lakes, provides a fabulous winter option. Here you can seat 70 guests for dining and up to 130 for evening entertainment.

The West Hall and South Hall are impressive rooms with original vaulted ceilings. The West Hall, which has two huge fireplaces, can seat 150, while the South Hall can seat up to 120 for dining and up to 250 for dancing and evening entertainment.

Hidden away behind the Pulham rockwork are the Secret Gardens, featuring a rustic wooden structure, perfect for an intimate ceremony or blessing, or even as a private hideaway, to which the couple can sneak away for pictures. After the ceremony, The Dairy has many spaces in which the newlyweds can spend some well-deserved alone time.

The venue hire includes all 16 bedrooms at The Five Arrows Hotel as well as Dairy Cottage, a fully furnished self-catering cottage with two double bedrooms, on the grounds of The Dairy.

If you have larger guest numbers, a glass structure or marquee to seat up to 250 people can be positioned in the central courtyard of the Dairy.

The Dairy is an exclusive use, dry hire venue and has carefully selected preferred non offensive or kosher suppliers who will work with you on creating the perfect menu.
