I haven't seen a hard copy of the JC in years, but today a friend phoned to say that an excerpt from my JC blog appeared in last week's print edition of the paper. Apparently it's the piece about Yom Kippur in Israel, which the Jewish Press newspaper in New York also ran without telling me.
Fortunately, I no longer make my living as a freelance writer (I work on the website of a Jerusalem think tank (www.jcpa.org) and lead private briefing seminars in and around the Old City and eastern Jerusalem)otherwise I'd be a little put out that a newspaper is using my work to fill their pages without paying me for it. A blog, of course is different, since the whole point is to see how far your ideas and observations can get out and about, so thanks, JC for the publicity!
