So no Brucie on last week’s Strictly, and I really missed him – he brings something special to the show. He is heaps better than the guy on Dancing With the Stars. Tess and Claudia filled in as best they could, but the show really benefits from the polished professional performance of Bruce Forsyth.
I had a very anxious moment when it seemed that Ricky and Erin might be voted off. Thank goodness for Len Goodman, who judged the quality of the dancing and saw how beautifully Ricky Groves coped with the Viennese Waltz. It’s a difficult dance, as it makes some people very dizzy. Phil Tufnell did a good job but he seemed to be taking up poses and lacked fluidity in his actual dancing.
It was also a real tragedy that two of the female celebrities were injured just before the show. I really hope that Jade can come back next week. As for Laila, hmm – I think she got the sympathy vote tonight, but even so, it would have been sad to see her go due to an injury.
Natalie and Vincent
Well done Natalie - the foxtrot was very well executed and cute. She really delivers a watchable performance every week.
Ali and Brian
The judges seemed to love this performance more than I did. I do like this couple but they seemed slightly hesitant, and I am sure there were mistakes.
Chris and Ola
I thought Chris was brilliant and I don’t understand the judges’ criticism that he wasn’t dancing!
Ricky and Erin
Ricky is what the show is all about – a guy who understands just how wonderful dancing can be and how it can actually move you to tears.
Laila and Anton
I don’t think Laila is good enough to get to the final, and although I would not like her to have been voted off while suffering from an injury, I do feel she will be eliminated soon.
Ricky and Natalie
I thought this was amazing – apparently they had to slow their dance down but it looked fast enough to me. I would love to dance with this guy.
Phil and Katya
It was good but I am afraid I just wasn’t impressed....goodbye and good luck.
