Ready steady BAKE - what to bake for your finals viewing

Quirky Kim-Joy irritated me initially. It’s entirely irrational, but I think I had her down as a ‘knit your own socks’ vegan, do-gooder type. Utterly unfair, and as time has gone on, her delicate icing skills, pretty presentation and tearful episodes (exactly how I deal with stress/anger/upset/just about anything)  have won me over. Still doesn't stir my pud enough to get me cheering for her. 

To be honest, I don’t have a firm favourite, so I think, like Paul and Prue, I’ll have to judge how they do on the night.

In the meantime, I'll be baking up something to share on finals night. Should you need any help choosing a bake to have to hand while you watch, here are my a few of my favourite three JC cakes:

The Showstopper:
Michelle Eshkeri's chocolate cake with peanut butter and cream cheese frosting is a real showstopper. (Or you could visit Margot Bakery in East Finchley where she bakes up her delicious treats and not even turn the oven on!)

The Technical:

Twenty five identical Nutella cookies from Amanda Ruben's book, Feasting, please. Perfect with a glass of milk to calm those finals nerves.  

The Signature: 

Where else would we turn other than our own Stacey Hart for a signature bake? She's a bit of a Bakewell babe, so rustle one this Bakewell and cranberry loaf and tuck into a few slices — and see if you can make it last for the whole show.
