AIPAC hopes that US President Barack Obama will use the opportunity of his speech to the pro-Israel lobby scheduled for Sunday to take a more conciliatory approach toward Israel than he displayed in his Middle East speech on Thursday, former spokesman for the group Josh Block said in an interview with Army Radio on Sunday.
"The president would be wise to use the opportunity to explain fully and to clarify what he meant in his Thursday speech," Block stated, alluding to controversial comments by Obama in which he stated that a future peace agreement should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed upon swaps.
Block expected Obama to speak about the US commitment to Israel and the good mutual relations between the countries.
Hmmm we shall see, meanwhile there is going to be a demonstration today outside the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.
