Well, in the month since last blogging, lots seems to have happened. Having apparently dealt with Ilan's use of the f-word (see previous blog post), we've had two more utterances of the word, the most recent being at Shabbat lunch! He was promptly served with a TV ban for the following two days, though suggested that perhaps he should be banned for a further two days! This was rejected by us, and there's been no repetition! Our concern is that he accidentally says it at school when he returns tomorrow. My other concern is that Lauren seems unable to remain serious when said word is said by Ilan! Having said that, I myself struggle to keep a straight face on such occasions too!!

On the subject of school, Ilan starts Reception tomorrow! I'm not sure where his year at school Nursery went, but it passed rather quickly, and with Ilan settling fantastically. Let's hope this continues in the coming academic year.

Not to be outdone, Michal - ten months today (just where does the time go) - started her settling in period at her own nursery today, which seemed to go fine. She is now crawling around at a rate of knots, and giving her older brother a run for his money. For all the (loving) hair pulling and face prodding she serves up, Ilan stays remarkably calm and friendly throughout!! She's also a keen (assisted) walker, and is more than interested in the stairs...hence the introduction of a stair gate at the top! It's only a matter of time before another one has to be put at the bottom of the stairs!!

During the past month, we also spent ten days on 'holiday' in the UK, on the coast. While it's great to be out the office, spending quality time with my family, it aint half a lot of work being an 'entertainer' for 12-13 waking hours a day!!

I'm now off to practise my Haftarah for Rosh Hashanah, as well as prepare myself for leading a yomtov children's service for up to 40 under-5s!!!!
