LONDON: Religious fanaticism. A powder keg set to explode

SEPTEMBER 13, 2011 - I have just watched four short videos that vividly describe London, as seen today by many people living outside of the country. It is a city where religious fanatical groups can openly demonstrate for the annihilation of a country, demand British military veterans burn in hell, encourage jihad against Christians, propose war against Israel and scream for freedom/human rights be curtailed.

I wonder how long it will be before ordinary Londoners react and take firm issue against this wholly new form of religious fanaticism that is against the British democratic way of life that we have all learned to respect and value.

This is not the London many of us know, or now want to be part of. It is no longer the city where, on Sunday afternoons, I visited Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, to hear and heckle speakers on subjects as diverse as supporting World Federal Government, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Pacifism, Socialism, Teetotalism, and a plethora of 'isms' one cannot recollect, other than remember them with a smile on one's face.
