So much broiges has been occasioned by my last post that I feel I need to change pace and post a few jokes.
This one, from the Jewish Comedy Fest, appeared in the NYT recently and I just love it:
"I was walking home in Greenwich Village the other day when I saw some guy try to grab a lady's purse...
after 10 minutes of watching this guy try and try while she held on tight, I just couldn't ignore the situation any longer...so I jumped in to help. You know, it took the two of us at least another 20 minutes to finally get that bag out of her hands."
One which is a true story, sent in as a letter to the NYT by Marian Solomon Lubinsky, goes like this:
"My husband and I were at a dinner when I was introduced to a woman who lived on the Upper West Side. She was telling me about her grandchildren.
Thinking of my grandchildren, who live in London and Washington, I asked ' Do they live near you?'
She looked very sad. 'No,' she replied. 'They live in Brooklyn.' "
And here's another true story. I met a guy in my building who always wears a Star of David ring. One day we went for coffee and he told me he was mixed race, with a Jewish mother. So I asked if she was Sephardic or Ashkenazi. He told me with a straight face, 'neither; she was from Brooklyn.'
