Can you imagine that those who oppose such law are exactly those who have mouthfuls of "people" and "people's rights" etc.?
It is laughable to see those antisemitic guys now pretend that you cannot trust the same people for taking the right decision when needed.
Referendums are the best tool of democracy. No doubt those who believe in dictatorship "for the good of the people" will reject such a tool. Maybe you remember the last regimes who do/did that? USSR and Communist China, that's right! The former is dead and the latter has taken some tough decisions: annex Tibet. No doubt this is a dream for those who oppose asking people's advice.
The decision was taken by a 2/3 majority, quite a performance at the Knesset. So not only it is a people's victory but also a parliamentary victory.
