There is a blog posted on this website by the inimitable Jonathan Hoffman regarding the closure of the Ahava shop in Convent Garden. Instead of supporting what is a tragic situation we have the usual gaggle of anti-Israel geese making ad hominem attacks on Mr Hoffman for actually standing up to the BDS Nazi Storm troopers - the whole episode being starkly reminicent of pre-war Germany when Jewish owned businesses were targetted by Hitler's brown shirts. If the geese can't see that then they are doomed - poor things. The thugs who carried placards with vile lies about Israel are the brown shirts worthy successors and deserve the same fate that befell them. Unfortunately British Jews with a number of notable exceptions believe that any one who tells them that the atmosphere in the UK has now become toxic for Jews is just crying wolf. Unfortunately history has a habit of repeating itself.
Ron Proser, shortly to take up the position of Israel's UN Ambassador, has set out in a speech how awful the situation has become on University campuses around the UK for Jewish students but it appears no one really cares - the advice being to keep your head down and you will be ok. Well let me tell you it will not be ok.
The closure of the Ahava branch will be chalked up by the PSC Storm Troopers as a victory which will only embolden them to try and carry out further such crimes. The UK authorities appear in no great hurry to defend lawful businesses carrying on lawful trade especially if there is an Israel connection.
However I wonder what the re-action would be by the same authorities if say the JDL started picketing a prominent Arab owned business in London drawing attention to attrocites carried out by Hamas/Hezbollah and implying that some or all of the shop's profits are used for their terrorist activities.
