One Sunday afternoon I was leaving my flat and a neighbour asked, "Where are you going?" I replied, "I am going to my niece for tea. Nothing exciting." Afterwards I thought, I am 82, and I can still go and see and do. I am going to a niece who loves me; she has a wonderful husband and healthy children. I will meet her friends, who are all good, kind, honest, hard-working people. We will sit in the garden, with no bombs dropping. The table is full of food. We live in England, in peace and freedom. My grandson was seven years in the army and has come out whole. What could possibly be more exciting than all that.
