Better safe than sorry?

As guests were leaving a travel agents’ convention in London last week, they received a gift box from the Israel Government Tourist Office containing Dead Sea products and, they were shocked to discover, condoms. To make matters even worse, the box bore the inappropriate slogan: “Come to Israel and be satisfied.”

In response to this unfortunate incident, the Ministry of Tourism issued the following statement: “We regret this private initiative which was taken by a local representative and is against all ministry guidelines. We apologise to anyone who may have been offended as a result. The matter is under investigation."

Good to hear the new Minister of Tourism is acting quickly to deter any other representatives from using their initiative willy-nilly.
