In a shock move tonight, Angela Merkel has asked Israel's assistance in investigating the killing of 142 Afghan civilians at German hands in September 2009. Angela Merkel gave the following short statement in front of the world's media: "Given our particular history and our great respect for Israel's legal system, my government thought it most appropriate that the Jewish state should investigate what many people have suggested are war crimes. Naturally, it would be totally inappropriate for Germany to investigate possible German crimes. I'm sure you will all agree that we simply cannot be trusted."
Nah, I don't think so. This is what she really said:

"German officer Georg Klein, who ordered an air strike in Afghanistan that killed 142 people, testified before a parliamentary committee in Berlin on Wednesday. He described the attack as "appropriate" but said he regretted the civilian deaths."

Don't you just love that word "appropriate". So very German. And, just listen! Can't you hear that? Yes, it's the sound of the complete silence of the entire world. Unlucky for those 143 civilians that they weren't killed by Jews.
