Rabbi Yuval Sherlo, of the Orthodox Tzohar movement of rabbis, has written in Ma'ayanei Ha'yeshua, an opinion sheet distributed among national religious synagogues in Israel, condemning those rabbis who issued an halachic ruling against renting to non-Jews.
It has appeared in Ynet, and here are a few lines in translation.
"We cannot have Jewish rule/sovereignty without looking after the stranger who lives among us in the areas of housing and employment...From the moment it was set up, Israel has been responsible not only for the Jews in it, but for the non-Jews too...As human beings, they have a right to employment and to a roof over their heads."
"We need to act to increase the Jewish population of the Galil and Negev but not by prohibiting rent to non-Jews or by a hurtful campaign. We need to do so by helping the stranger in our midst, and by increasing the Jewish population there."
Very reasonable views.
