Zaytoun to screen at UK Film Fest

articlemain

This year’s UK Jewish Film Festival will screen the hotly tipped Zaytoun, the first fruit of the newly-signed UK-Israel film treaty, in November.

Directed by renowned Israeli director Eran Riklis, the film follows the developing friendship of a Palestinian boy and a shot-down Israeli fighter pilot, played by Stephen Dorff, as they attempt to make their way home across war-torn Lebanon. Festival director Judy Ironside said: “We’ve been tracking this film for over a year with great excitement. It deals with a very sensitive subject by focusing on a very personal relationship.”

The film has been produced by Gareth Unwin, producer of The King’s Speech.

The 16th UK JFF runs from November 1-18 in London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow.
