A friend of both men on Facebook said: “Two of my best friends in the whole world were injured in a car accident that could have ended their lives. Today they are well on their way to recovery.”
The strictly Orthodox men, aged 19 and 20, from Stamford Hill in north London, were knocked unconscious when the black Ford they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a lorry.
They were understood to have travelled to Hungary to pray at the tomb of renowned rabbi, Yeshaya Steiner of Kerestir.
Following a fundraising campaign launched by a member of the local community, they were flown back to the UK in a specially equipped plane.
