A talking point - at least for those of you up watching cartoons at the crack of dawn.

A reader was horrified by the above shot from CBeebies' Tommy Zoom, which depicts the villainous Polluto plotting world domination surrounded by some familiar-looking stars. "It seemed ridiculous that something so offensive could be shown on a BBC children's programme," she said.

The BBC was baffled at any suggestion of magen Davids: "The stars are quite clearly child-like drawings of stars in the sky," a spokesman explained.

Could a gremlin with a line in subliminal imagery be at work?
