West London Synagogue is expecting to hold its first same-sex wedding within the actual synagogue next month, with one of its rabbis among the celebrating couples.
Previously, a civil same-sex marriage was held in the Reform shul's hall, while another couple had a religious wedding in an outside venue conducted under the synagogue's auspices.
Simon Myers, WLS executive director, said, "We can confirm that there will be several same-sex marriage ceremonies taking place in the synagogue during December.
"Rabbi David Mitchell and his long-term partner, Ian Kirsh, will be among those celebrating the opportunity to convert their civil partnership into an equal marriage."
