An Israeli security guard was stabbed at a checkpoint in the Israeli town of Beitar Illit this weekend.
A surveillance video shows a Palestinian woman - who has been identified as Halva Alian, 23 - walking up to the checkpoint and showing her ID to the guard. She then reaches into her bag and pulls out a large knife.
The guard stepped back as the woman lunged at him with the knife and it is reported that he suffered light wounds before shooting the woman and disabling her.
The woman is reported as saying that she was on he way to a bus stop and her goal was to stab Israelis waiting there.
