Tony Blair and Michael Wolff have each accused the other of lying in a row over the former’s Prime Minister’s alleged dealings with the Trump White House.

Mr Wolff, the American author and journalist, claimed in his bestselling book Fire and Fury, a fly-on-the-wall account of the first year of the Trump presidency, that Mr Blair made attempts to secure a job as Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy.

Mr Wolff also claimed that Mr Blair told the Trump administration that British intelligence services may have spied on them before President Trump assumed office.

At the time of the book’s publication in January, Mr Blair dismissed both claims, accusing Mr Wolff of “complete invention”.
