Teacher died after crashing SUV into swimming pool at Long Island home

She was able to call for help but died of her injuries in the ambulance en route to hospital.

Police do not suspect foul play, but the investigation is ongoing.

Rahmani’s funeral was held on Sunday at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett, the same day she had been scheduled to leave for a trip to Paris to celebrate her 40th birthday with her husband, Matthew.

During the service, Matthew, who is president of Irving Place Minyan, paid tribute to his wife by reciting Eshet Chayil.

He apologised to his late wife for not having said it at their wedding, adding: “I can’t imagine more fitting words for the woman you were.”

He also spoke about the central role his wife had played throughout their life together, adding: “Every major decision point in our lives, you took me by the hand, you pulled me, you said it would be OK, that you believed in me, in us.”

Rahmani’s mother, Rachelle Rohde, said: “We are broken. We will never be the same.”
