A film about the Nova festival massacre recorded a historic win at last night’s News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

Surviving October 7: We Will Dance Again, the 90-minute film directed by Yariv Mozer, picked up the prize for Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary at the ceremony in New York.

The film chronicles the stories of the survivors and victims at the rave near Re’im, where more than 360 people were murdered and dozens were kidnapped by Hamas.

It was aired by the BBC in the UK and Paramount+ internationally in 2024, though at the time Mozer claimed the British version had seen all references to Hamas as “terrorists” removed at the corporation’s insistence, saying it was “a price I was willing to pay so that the British public will be able to see these atrocities”.
