Jewish singer Jess Glynne has hit out at the White House for using one of her songs over a deportation video.

This comes as the White House jumped on the Jet2holidays meme bandwagon which has spread across the internet. The original advert by the travel company shows families having a good time abroad to the soundtrack of Glynne's uplifting number Hold My Hand, as a cheerful voice declares that "nothing beat a Jet2 holiday". This subsequently became a meme which replaces the happy video with somewhat more unpleasant footage — including fights breaking out and plane crashes.

The White House, not wanting to miss out on the craze, posted a clip on X on Wednesday that replaced the video with footage of handcuffed people being led onto planes and deported. The video was captioned: "When ICE [United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement] books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!"
