This is believed to be an inaccurate spelling of Greenstein, the original surname of her parents, both Jews of European heritage, who hebraicised it to Gadot before she was born.
The icon at the centre of the star, an outline of an old-fashioned film camera, was also scribbled out.
It was then overplayed with a sticker featuring the outline of two children in a crosshairs and reading: “Israeli snipers target children.”
However, within a few hours, the hateful graffiti had been removed by a pair of Israeli visiting the site, who scrubbed it away with a brush and cleaning products.

Gadot has become a focal point of pro-Palestine protests due to her high profile and IDF record. After winning the Miss Israel pageant in 2004, she was conscripted into the army and served as a combat trainer, specialising in gymnastics, callisthenics and hand-to-hand techniques.
Fewer than three weeks of her two year service was spent in uniform. She reportedly did not see active combat and did not re-enlist when the Gaza War began in October 2023.
Nonetheless, she has been consistently targeted by activists, including while filming internationally.
Just last night, five people were arrested over their alleged involvement in protests attempting to disrupt the shooting of Gadot’s new film, The Runner, which is currently in production in London.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were deployed to a filming location in Westminster to identify suspects wanted in connection with offences at earlier protests.
The suspects were arrested for harassment and offences under Section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act which deals with wrongfully and unlawfully obstructing access to a workplace.
Two of the arrests relate to incidents at previous protests while three relate to alleged offences that took place yesterday.
Superintendent Neil Holyoak, who oversaw the operation, said: “While we absolutely acknowledge the importance of peaceful protest, we have a duty to intervene where it crosses the line into serious disruption or criminality.
“We have been in discussions with the production company to understand the impact of the protests on their work and on any individuals involved.
“I hope today’s operation shows we will not tolerate the harassment of or unlawful interference with those trying to go about their legitimate professional work in London.”
