A group of anti-Israel demonstrators have been arrested after blocking the route of New York City’s iconic Thanksgiving Day parade.
The procession of floats was briefly disrupted by a group of around 30 protestors who glued their hands to the ground in the middle of New York’s Sixth Avenue.

Holding signs accusing Israel of genocide, and wearing vague slogans such as “colonialism”, “imperialism” and “consumerism”, the group poured fake blood over themselves, before being moved on by the NYPD.
The group, which demonstrated in front of a huge Ronald McDonald float sponsored by the fast food chain, were swiftly confronted by officers, who made several arrests, and forcibly moved the group from the parade’s path.
The parade was the 95th iteration of the parade which sees hundreds of floats parade down one of Manhattan’s main thoroughfares and draws a crowd of thousands lining the route.
Earlier this week, New York mayor Eric Adams promised a crackdown on violent protests in the city, saying: “You’re not going to destroy property, you’re not going to injure people.”
