The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is being trolled after advertising a job on LinkedIn.

Since the job - located in Amman - was posted on the social networking site one week ago, hundreds of site users have taken to the advert to pose queries and comments to the relief and human development agency which has links to Hamas.

UNRWA has been embroiled in scandal since last month when Israel accused the agency of cooperating with the terrorist group, and identified 12 UN Relief and Works Agency workers who it claims took part in the October 7 massacre. Head of UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini has denied this.

One of the organisation’s workers is accused of kidnapping a woman, another of participating in the attack on Kibbutz Be’eri in which nearly 100 people were murdered, and others of distributing ammunition to terrorists. IDF soldiers have found missiles hidden among UNRWA relief supplies, while aid sacks marked with its logo were found filled with dirt and used in the lining of Hamas terror tunnels.

It led to several countries, the UK included, suspending their financial aid to UNRWA.

Last month, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said that intelligence “indicates that out of approximately 12,000 UNRWA employees in the Gaza Strip, about 10 per cent are Hamas or Islamic Jihad operatives, and another 50 per cent are first-degree relatives of a Hamas operative.”

One LinkedIn troll requested more information on the international job opportunity in “Chief Private Sector Partnerships”, whose deadline appears to have been extended to 1 March, and commented: “I have 7 years of designing and building explosive devices, fully trained in prisoner interrogation and I know how to operate most small firearms.

“I am very (very!) discreet and highly motivated to commit crimes against Jews. I can attest to being sadistic, racist, and have a raging blood-lust when it comes to discriminatory murder. I am fully familiar with the works of A. Hitler and J Goebbels and I am a fully-fledged Hamas operative. But don't tell anyone that last part as I am under an NDA.

“I would be thrilled to perpetuate the refugee status of the people of Gaza for eternity because if not, obscene organizations like yours will have no more purpose unless you rebrand as the new and improved national socialist party.

“Allahuakbar, death to Jews, please hire me.”

Another troll responding to the job post said: “I am very interested in your advertisement as I believe working for you could provide me with various soft skills that I unfortunately do not yet possess. Do you offer any courses on how to handle a weapon or how to violate women in front of their children and husbands?”

One LinkedIn user asked: “Is Hamas membership a pre-requirement or can you register after taking the job?” Another said, “Can I pick my own hostages or are they assigned to me by another team?” And: “do we get our weapons at orientation or do we need to buy them separately?”

One person suggested that the type of employees the organisation is looking for might not be using LinkedIn, while another proffered that its job screening might not be working properly, pointing to the statement from UNRWA’s own site:

"Candidates will not be considered for employment with UNRWA if they have committed violations of international human rights law, violations of international humanitarian law, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, or sexual harassment, or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that they have been involved in the commission of any of these acts..."

Another troll said: “I have few questions: will each Jewish kill be counted as a bonus? Is the bonus percentage higher for child kidnapping or is it the same? Rape is optional?”

Plenty of references were made to Hamas’s use of tunnels in Gaza: “What happened to your previous workers ? You've lost your tunnel connection?”

An aerospace engineering student asked: “Do you have any coop opportunities this summer? Is there an aerospace option or is it all tunnel engineering?”

In reference to the antisemitism that has been exposed at American Ivy League universities since October 7, one poster said: “You can contact Columbia University, I'm sure you'll get some good applicants from there. You can also try and contact Harvard and MIT.”
