All the doors around JFS are sporting brand new signs in Hebrew, thanks to a donor's generosity. They include one whose threshold most pupils would rather not cross, now bearing the name "Cheder 17" but familiar to alumni as "Room 17": it is where erring boys and girls are sent to serve a detention.
