Police are looking for witnesses of a traffic collision in Hertfordshire, which took the life of a man described by his family as “too good for this world”.

Justin Posner was fatally injured by a bus while out running around 7.20am on August 30. The accident happened on Porters Park Drive at the junction with Grace Avenue in Shenley.

He was taken to hospital but passed away on September 26. A 57-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Justin’s daughter Tia said: “Losing Justin, a loved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend has left a huge hole in all our hearts.

“Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him will know he was a man who radiated strength, bravery and passion and found so much pleasure in giving back to others.

“A man too good for this world. This is the only way as a family we can understand why he was taken from us too soon."

A keen runner, Justin was the owner of a catering supplies company, which he had founded from scratch, said his nephew, Jake. “He was an inspiration in life and business. He grew his business, JM Posner Ltd from nothing to something. If I can achieve and be half the person [he was], I would have done well.”

PC Peter Hoddy from Hertfordshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Justin’s family and friends at this time.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please come forward.

“Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured vital evidence that could help us progress our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to email peter.hoddy@herts.police.uk. People also can report information by calling 101 and quoting reference number 41/69367/23.
