London Mayor Boris Johnson has unveiled a bust of the late Sir Simon Milton in a West End ceremony.
Sir Simon, his former chief of staff and deputy mayor of London, died of pneumonia aged 49 in 2011 after a 20-year battle with leukaemia.
The ceremony in Piccadilly was attended by more than 150 people, including Sir Simon’s former partner, councillor Robert Davis.
Mr Johnson described Sir Simon, who was a member of West London Synagogue, as “the personification of calm, sweet reason”.
