Students at Sussex University have voted overwhelmingly to implement a boycott against Israel.

A referendum held by the student union saw 1286 students vote with 806 - 68 per cent – backing a motion in favour of a boycott. There were 373 votes against and 113 abstentions.

The result will mean the union will boycott all Israeli goods and cultural and academic institutions. It will also be commited to lobbying the university to drop all investments in Israel and not work with Israeli companies.
