Mr Burley was reselected at a Cannock Chase Conservative Association meeting this week, after which association chairman Phil Jones said that the "overwhelming feeling" was that "since 2010 he has set a new standard as a constituency MP".
He has a majority of 3,195, but is placed at number 50 on the Labour Party's target list for 2015.
"Much has been achieved in the last three years, but there are always more challenges to face," said Mr Burley after being chosen. "I hope that I will able to continue facing them for the people of Cannock Chase through to 2020 and beyond".
His Labour opponent for the seat, Janos Tooth - whose mother fled Poland during the Second World War to escape the Nazis - has urged David Cameron to keep his pledge on the report and draw the issue to a conclusion.
