Having designed props for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Royal Opera House and the Royal Shakespeare Company, craftsman Simon Aronson is now revealing some of the tricks of the trade.

Mr Aronson, 32, has set up the Making Space, a London-based company which runs art workshops including mask making, glass engraving and book hollowing. Oh, and there are also seasonal events, such as pumpkin carving.

On February 25, he will be teaching a two-part Purim mask-making class at the Jewish Community Centre for London. He tells People: "Lately I have been trying to do less prop-making and more craft classes. I really enjoy the teaching aspect if it."

Graduating in maths and with a master's in information systems engineering, Mr Aronson decided he wanted to work in a different field. "I had always been making things; sculpting and carving, and wanted to form it into a career." He went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has since worked on blockbuster movies.
