Sassoon, Rebuck head birthday honours list

June Jacobs, a veteran human rights campaigner and member of the board of the JC's Kessler Foundation, has been appointed CBE in recognition of her human rights and interfaith work.

Former chair of Leo Baeck College, Professor Graham Zellick, is also made CBE for services to justice. Simon Winters, the former JNF chief executive, was made OBE for his services to charity.

An OBE also goes to the immediate past president of the Board of Deputies, Henry Grunwald, for services to the Jewish community and interfaith relations, and Ilana Tahan, head of the British Library's Hebrew Collections, is also appointed OBE.

MBEs go to Deborah Cohen, editor of BBC Radio Science, to Stamford Hill-based David Segelman for services to Jewish people in north London, to Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin, founder of the Drugsline charity, to Daniel Taubman, for services to adult and further education, and to Joy Wolfe, for services to the Greater Manchester community.
