Roy Hodgson's Literary Choice

Interest has been reviving in Stefan Zweig, the nearly forgotten Austrian Jewish writer who fled the Nazis, lived here for a while and committed suicide in Brazil in 1942.

Salford University is staging a free performance at MediaCityUK of a high-tech opera celebrating his life next Thursday. Zweig enthusiasts include England soccer manager Roy Hodgson, who has described his novel Beware of Pity as "absolutely magnificent".
