Freelance graphic designer Rosalind Wilson has won a Marks & Spencer greetings-card competition.
Leeds-based Mrs Wilson, 35, was victorious in the Everyday Cute Character contest, run internationally by Tigerprint, a division of Hallmark, the sales supplier for Marks & Spencer greetings cards and gift wrap.
Entrants were invited to create a cute new character to be used across the greeting-cards range.
Mrs Wilson's Mo Monkey was the winning entry. "Hopefully, Mo's character will bring warm smiles to both sexes who receive the card," she tells People. "It was a joy creating him."
Aside from the £200 prize money, Mrs Wilson believes the backing from M&S and the kudos of the award will bring great benefits.
"Having their endorsement is very valuable and has given me a terrific boost," she says. She adds that her inspiration came from various sources, but mainly from her two young children. "Just seeing life through their eyes can be totally liberating, and often gives me inspiration for my work."
Earlier this year Mrs Wilson was asked to design Shana Tova cards for WIZO UK.
She is a member of the Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue on Street Lane.
