A Stamford Hill synagogue due to be auctioned next week will now not be sold, the JC has learned. The building, in Upper Clapton Road, Hackney, had been listed with auctioneers Barnett Ross at a reserve price of £825,000, and was due to be sold next Tuesday, July 15. The JC understands that receivers had been called in to sell the property, but the synagogue’s original owner, Rabbi Moshe Meisels, bought it back.
