A public relations specialist with extensive knowledge of the Jewish charity sector is to be Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis’s new director of communications.

Mark Frazer, from The PR Office, is one of the three new appointments made to strengthen the team at the Office of the Chief Rabbi.

Michelle Bauernfreund, director of operations at Mitzvah Day, starts in a similar position at the OCR next week.

The third recruit is Daniel Bacall, head of marketing at Langdon, the charity for young people with learning difficulties, who will have a role in external affairs.

The extra staff are expected to help the chief rabbi develop his work particularly in the areas of social action, education and interfaith.
