Police investigating sexual assaults on two women in Hackney have released images of a man they want to question.
One incident took place on February 14 in 2019 when police responded to a call at 7.50 am from a 15-year-old girl who said she had been sexually assaulted on the top deck of a 254 bus in the Stamford Hill area.
Nearly a year later, on February 4 2020, a 19-year old woman travelling to work on the 253 bus in Stamford Hill said a man repeatedly tried to assault her just before 9 in the morning. He got off at Clapton Common.
The woman said the same man had sexually assaulted her, or attempted to, on two previous occasions on the 253 bus in two months.
The investigating officer PC Clair, of the Metropolitan Police, said, “Although there is a year between the two incidents, we are treating these as linked and it’s really important that we track down this man. I am asking anyone who knows him to call us straightaway.”
She asked the man caught on the CCTV footage to come forward or if anyone knew who he was to call the police.
