ORT UK, the British arm of the world’s largest Jewish education charity ORT, has appointed Adam Overlander-Kaye as its new chief executive

He will take up the post in April, succeeding Dan Green, who was promoted recently to the role of chief operating officer of World ORT.

Mr Overlander-Kaye has been director of fundraising at Reform Judaism for the past six years. He is also a governor of Akiva Primary School in Finchley, north London, and a regular presenter and educator at Limmud.

Earlier in his career, he worked as fundraising manager at UJIA following a decade of working in Jewish education.

He said he was looking forward to joining ORT UK. The charity, he said, did “profoundly important work in giving young people the hope of a better future.

“I am proud to be given the opportunity to develop existing relationships and create new ones that will build on ORT’s historic mission and to work with such a fantastic professional and voluntary team.”

Simon Alberga, chairman of ORT UK, welcomed his appointment.

He said: “Adam’s track record in professional Jewish community leadership and his fundraising success with individuals, trusts and foundations and corporate donors made him an outstanding choice to be our new chief executive.

The new chief executive would work with the ORT UK board and staff to increase the charity’s donor base and raise its profile. The charity appointed six new trustees at the end of last year.

Mr Alberga also thanked Mr Green “for his contribution over three years that saw ORT UK grow and thrive.”
