Nothing fishy in Clinton email

Among the thousands of emails written by American presidential contender Hillary Clinton, which were officially released this week, one attracted particular attention.

It was the one marked "Gefilte fish" with a message from the then Secretary of State asking "Where are we on this?"

Could she have been having some of her Jewish son-in-law's relatives round for Friday night dinner? Or was the State Department in the habit of using the names of Jewish dishes as code to refer to policy issues (such as, response to Iran nuclear threat = matzah pudding)?

The Washington Post revealed the truth. A consignment of frozen carp was on its way from the United States to Israel and Mrs Clinton was trying to spare it from incurring a hefty import levy.
